Obituary of Helen Virginia Thompson
MARION, Va.
Helen Yates Thompson, age 91 passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Va.
She was born in Dickenson County, Va., December 15, 1927 to the late Earl and Gusta Gilbert Yates. Helen lived most of her life in Christiansburg, Va.; and was employed for over twenty years with the Radford Arsenal.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronol G. Thompson; two brothers and two sisters.
Helen is survived by her sons, Donald Lambert and wife, Susan, and Gary Lambert; grandchildren, Rusty Lambert and wife, Veronica, and McKenzie Gates and husband, Justin; great-grandchildren, Kevan and Hunter Lambert, and Xander and Kingston Gates; three sisters; three brothers; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the 1st Floor staff at Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home for the care given to Helen.
Private services will be held at a later date.
