The Cremation Society handles all details, including removal of the deceased from place of death and transfer to the Society, medical examiner authorization, cremation, filing of death certificate and return of cremated remains to appropriate individual.

1) Simple Cremation (Member price) ........... $970.00
This charge includes $25 membership fee, removal from place of death, administrative and staff services, preparation of the remains for cremation, refrigeration (up to 24 hour period), transportation to our crematory, medical examiner fee, cremation, temporary receptacle and filing of death certificate. Note: Allow five working days for a simple cremation. Additional mileage charge may apply for services outside 75 miles from Society offices.
2) Memorial Services (optional):
a) Equipment and Staff for memorial service ........... $325.00
Our staff will arrange and supervise a memorial service at a location such as a church, civic hall, or another location of your choice. A memorial service can be uniquely designed for a particular situation, or can follow traditional funeral lines. The charge for the memorial service includes services of the Cremation Society staff and a memorial package (register book, personalized memorial folders and acknowledgment cards), but does not include any fee which may be charged for use of a facility. We will also assist in procuring the services of clergy, soloists, organists or other musical accompaniment.
b) "Do-It Yourself" Memorial Package ........... $95.00
This option is available for families which wish to conduct their own memorial services. Package contains 50 personalized thank you cards with matching envelopes, 100 memorial folders and one register book.
3) Package and mail of cremated remains (USA only) ........... $55.00
4) Death Certificates (Virginia fee, per certificate) ........... $12.00
5) Biodegradable container for burial ........... $195.00
